How the URL Indexer and Index Checker work

Publishing a page and getting it indexed are separate events. A URL can be live, linked internally, and present in a sitemap while still waiting to be discovered, crawled, rendered, or selected for indexing. This tool handles the checking and submission step, but the strongest results come from treating indexing as a technical-quality workflow rather than a button press.

Google explains that crawling and indexing are automated processes and that requesting a crawl does not guarantee inclusion. Its official guidance on asking Google to recrawl URLs also notes that crawling can take from days to weeks. Standard and Instant describe provider processing routes; neither is a ranking or search-engine inclusion guarantee.

What should be true before you submit a URL?

• The URL should return a successful HTTP response and load useful main content.
• The page should not contain a noindex directive or be blocked from crawling.
• The canonical tag should identify the version you actually want indexed.
• Important pages should have crawlable internal links from relevant sections of the site.
• The URL should appear consistently in your XML sitemap where appropriate.

Recommended indexing workflow

1. Choose URL Indexer and paste up to 5 final canonical URLs for Standard Indexing, or up to 2 for Instant Indexing.
2. Use Standard Indexing when normal campaign timing is acceptable. Allow approximately 1–72 hours for provider processing.
3. If you are an existing customer and timing matters, select Instant Indexing and confirm a paid Order ID. A Standard-submitted URL becomes eligible for Instant Indexing after 72 hours, and each user can submit no more than 2 Instant URLs in 24 hours.
4. Record the report reference and review any URLs marked as needing attention.
5. Use the Index Checker on a later daily run to verify the outcome.

Why a submitted page may remain unindexed

Search engines may decline to index duplicate, thin, soft-404, inaccessible, low-value, or weakly connected pages. A submission cannot repair those signals. If a URL repeatedly fails, compare it with the site's chosen canonical, review its internal links, strengthen the page's unique value, and confirm that the server is returning the intended status code.

How to interpret the report

The report separates total URLs, provider submission outcomes, completed index-check outcomes, progress, and estimated admin time saved. For a completed checker run, “confirmed indexed” means the provider reported the page as indexed at the time of that check. For an indexer run, “job accepted” means processing has started, while “submitted successfully” is reserved for a completed provider submission. Neither means that a search engine has added the page to its searchable index.

The time-saved estimate uses the same visible formula for every workflow: 5 minutes for batch setup plus 2 minutes per URL for manual checking, submission, and logging. It is an operational estimate, not money, account credit, or a guaranteed service value.

Who should use this tool?

The indexer is designed for site owners, SEO teams, publishers, agencies, and developers who need a focused way to submit newly published or updated pages and then document whether those URLs are indexed. It is most useful for priority URLs—not for repeatedly resubmitting large sites without resolving technical or content-quality problems.

What to document after each run

Keep the report reference, submitted URLs, workflow used, provider outcome, and the date you plan to recheck. If a page remains absent, record the canonical, robots directives, response status, sitemap presence, and internal links you reviewed before trying again.
